Alan Carr seemed to put his foot in his mouth after he asked Mila Kunis an awkward sex question about one of her movies.

The Black Swan and That ’70s Show star has previously weighed in on how she feels about being objectified in the film industry, eventually coming to the fore in an open letter released to the public in 2016.

In the letter, she spoke up for gender equality in Hollywood and said that a producer told her that her career would take a ‘nose-dive’ if she didn’t undress for promotional material for an upcoming film at the time.

But as we know now, they were wrong, as Kunis has gone on to have an outstanding career in TV and film.

Back in 2011, while promoting her romcom Friends with Benefits opposite pop star Justin Timberlake, the pair appeared on talk show Alan Carr: Chatty Man.

The actress had previously admitted that she was not a fan of stripping in her films, refusing wholeheartedly to do nude scenes, to the point where they hired a butt double for the 2011 flick.

This hasn’t stopped Kunis from being part of a few steamy scenes in her time though, sharing a passionate moment with the likes of Natalie Portman and Zoe Saldana previously in her career.

“I showed side-boob, and I figured I can’t just give away everything all at once. I gotta let it all out in little pieces here and there,” she said on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show at the time.

On the talk show though, Alan Carr cheekily stated: “In the film, it’s interesting because women can’t handle the sex bit, can they? Because they get emotionally involved.”

Timberlake lets out a nervous ‘uh oh’, as Kunis clearly looks p***ed off with the question and the ‘SexyBack’ singer says ‘you don’t know what you just did to this one’.

As Carr begins to get worried and Timberlake says ‘somebody’s in trouble’, while pointing out her scrunched up angry face, the host asked: “What have I said? Have I pushed the wrong buttons?”

She explained: “Well, I just want to point out in this film, both characters get emotionally attached, but the man sticks his foot in his mouth and says the wrong thing, and the woman is just more vocal about it.

“That’s what I think, I think both characters do, not just the female.”

Timberlake then eased some of the tension by joking and saying that he disagrees completely, which garners some laughs from the crowd, adding: “I think the woman goes particularly insane, and the male just has to put up with it.”

The laughs that follow swiftly move the conversation along, when Carr asks the pair if they think the film’s premise, where two friends can have sex with no repercussions, can be replicated in real-life.

Unsurprisingly, they both agreed viewers shouldn’t try that one at home.

Anne Hathaway did not hold back when she was asked about her weight in the lead up to her role in The Dark Knight Rises.

Thankfully, it’s commonly agreed nowadays that it’s rude to ask a person about their weight or comment on changes to their body. However the media hasn’t always been so mindful when it comes to quizzing celebrities to their bodies.

One example of this is a recently resurfaced interview with The Idea of You actress Anne Hathaway, who found herself faced with an awkward comment about her weight during an interview back in 2011.

During a press junket for her romcom One Day, interviewer Chris Van Vliet asked the actress about her role as Catwoman in Christopher Nolan’s 2012 epic The Dark Knight Rises.

Ahead of the highly anticipated film’s premiere fans were of course excited about seeing Hathaway in the role, following the release of pictures of her in character, with Van Vliet making sure to get a couple of questions about The Dark Knight Rises into his interview.

“Fans are really excited about this. It was a couple days ago we finally saw the first photos of you as Catwoman,” Van Vliet asks, to which the actress nods her head politely, before he continues: “How do you fit into that suit?”

Hathaway instantly erupts into laughter and responds by making slight of the question.

“It takes three of us and a lot of lead time,” she said, adding: “Sit-ups, tricep curls and, you know, bench kicks – I don’t know.”

The actress appears keen to move past the topic of her body, seemingly anticipating the clanger Van Vliet would drop moments later.

The interviewer continued: “But you’re in phenomenal shape right now. How much weight have you lost to get into this shape right now?”

Ever the professional, Hathaway was able to come up with the perfect response to Van Vliet’s line of questioning, calling him a ‘forward young man’.

“You did not just ask me that. What a forward young man you are! My goodness – how much weight,” she responded.

Her response leaves Van Vliet blustering, insisting that he had not meant to offend Hathaway or suggest she needed to lose any weight.

“I’ve worked very hard to become Selina Kyle,” she added.

Fortunately Hathaway didn’t appear too offended by the question, with the actress telling Van Vliet she was ‘just messing’ with him after he apologised.

This isn’t to say that interviewers can’t ask about actors’ extreme body transformations for roles either, such as Christian Bale’s huge weight loss for The Machinist, but the interaction serves as a reminder to be mindful about how to broach topics around body weight.

For a brief moment, Zendaya appeared to get sidetracked by a pretty awkward interview question ahead of the release of her new movie.

The actor was out promoting her raunchiest film to date as she stars alongside Josh O’Connor and Mike Faist.

Titled Challengers, the upcoming flick follows Tashi Duncan (Zendaya), an ex tennis prodigy-turned-coach, who is married to a champion (Faist) on a losing streak.

Things get awkward for Tashi when her husband goes up against Patrick (O’Connor), his former best friend and Tashi’s ex boyfriend.

In the lead up to the release on 26 April, the trailer revealed that the trio are part of a love triangle and there’s a lot of kissing going on.

During an interview with Sunrise, journalist Edwina Bartholomew asks the three actors: “Out of all of you, not giving the plot point away, who is the best kisser?”

For a brief moment, Zendaya looks utterly perplexed by the question, before her co-stars step in and make light of the situation.

Without hesitation, Faist said: “Josh”

“Thank you,” O’Connor replied, as Zendaya, who’s in a relationship with Tom Holland, let her co-stars ‘take that [question].”

As the clip of the interview went viral across X, one viewer said: “Mike, it seems, recognized the lameness of said question and immediately said Josh. Love these three.”

“Embarrassing. Grade 3 question,” said another.

“An interviewer asked this to a girl who is committed because if I were her I would answer ‘my boyfriend’ very clearly,” a third said.

The couple – who first met on the set of Spider-Man – said they kept their relationship a secret for months and it is something they did intentionally.

“Our relationship is something that we are quite protective of and we want to keep as sacred as possible,” Holland told The Hollywood Reporter in 2023.

“We don’t think that we owe it to anyone, it’s our thing, and it has nothing to do with our careers.”

“Parts of my life, I accept, are going to be public,” Zendaya also told Elle.

“I can’t not be a person and live my life and love the person I love.”

“But also, I do have control over what I choose to share,” she added.

“It’s about protecting the peace and letting things be your own but also not being afraid to exist. You can’t hide. That’s not fun, either. I am navigating it more than ever now.”

Timothée Chalamet fans are annoyed at one question the star had to answer while promoting his latest movie.

Dune: Part Two is set to hit the big screen in the UK on 29 February 2024, and its stars have been doing the press run for the past couple of weeks.

The second instalment will continue to follow Paul Atreides (Chalamet) as he unites with love-interest Chani (Zendaya) and the Fremen while seeking out revenge against those who destroyed his family.

He will face a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the universe, and has to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.

The film, based on the 1965 novel of the same name, boasts a star-studded ensemble cast, with the likes of Josh Brolin, Florence Pugh, Austin Butler, Dave Bautista and many more along with Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya.

But during the press run, the two main stars of the epic sci-fi film have had to encounter a specific type of question, repeatedly.

Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya are very close friends in real-life, but have a romantic relationship in the movie.

Former Made in Chelsea star Sam Thompson couldn’t resist asking Chalamet about it, saying in a press junket interview for the film: “You’re an actor, right, I would find it so hard – like you’ve obviously got a relationship with somebody [on screen] who is also your friend, it’s not like you actually don’t know them, they’re actually your friend.

“Is it easier or harder to have a relationship on-screen with someone who you’re actually pals with?”

The 28-year-old nonchalantly responded: “There’s no good answer to that.

“It’s what the story required, and maybe in some ways because we are good friends maybe it was less weird.

“It’s the nature of the job.”

In real life, Zendaya is dating Spider-Man star Tom Holland, and Chalamet is reportedly with socialite Kylie Jenner.

When the film premiered in Paris, Zendaya was asked about their kissing scenes to which the 27-year-old simply responded: “I think it’s our job.”

Fans in the comments of the video on X, which has accumulated over one and a half million views, were annoyed that Chalamet was asked the question.

One user said: “Interviewers discovering what actors have been doing for decades is hilarious.”

Another commented: “I didn’t even have to unmute to know which question, these are like questions you’d ask high school theatre students.”

A third put: “They’re almost 30 and they’ve both been professional actors since they were teenagers!!! Why are people so obsessed with this ughhhhh.”
