Comedian Lucy Beaumont says she made agreement with Jon Richardson as she breaks silence on their split

Jon Richardson and Lucy Beaumont announced their divorce back in April

Lucy Beaumont has opened up on the agreement she made with Jon Richardson following their divorce announcement earlier this year.

The British comedy couple – who starred together in Meet The Richardsons – said in April that they are divorcing after nine years of marriage.

“After nine years of marriage, we would like to announce that we have separated,” the pair, who have a daughter together, said in a joint statement.

“We have jointly and amicably made the difficult decision to divorce and go our separate ways.

“As our only priority is managing this difficult transition for our daughter, we would ask that our privacy is respected at this sensitive time to protect her well-being.

“We will be making no further comment.”

Lucy has now broken her silence following the announcement in an interview with OK!.

With her own podcast now in the pipeline, the 41-year-old from Hull admitted: “I don’t feel any different really, just a bit angrier and not willing to take any s**t from anyone.

“People might think I should talk about it because we were so public and everyone knew us as a couple, but I won’t, and not because there’s any animosity.”

On making a pact with her ex Jon, she explained: “We both agreed that while it might be weird for other people not hearing anything about it, we wouldn’t talk about anything to do with the marriage or each other.”

Lucy’s career skyrocketed since picking up the BBC New Comedy Award 12 years ago.

Despite starring in BAFTA-nominated TV show Meet the Richardsons, she insists that her passion lies in stand-up.

“Live shows are unbeatable, there’s nothing like it because it’s so immediate,” she said.

“And each show is totally different.

“You can sort of get the same reaction because they’re well bedded-in shows, but each audience has a different personality it’s mad, and really fascinating.

“You can say something off hand and it can be the best gag of the show you just don’t get that with TV!”

Lucy said it’s been a challenge to break into a male-dominated industry, adding: “I grew up seeing things very differently.

“It was only when I got into comedy clubs that people were telling me ‘women aren’t funny’, and I couldn’t understand it because I knew that my mum was the funniest person I knew.

“If people don’t call it out, it could easily slip back because it’s an unconscious bias.

“The sexism in everything is still there, exactly as it was years ago, but every now and then people feel confident enough to say stuff like that.

“It’s still a man’s industry and there’s still this bias that actually comedy is a man’s thing, and it can’t be further from the truth.

Jeremy Kyle also opened up on why he hasn’t ‘spoken for five years’

Warning: This article contains discussion of suicide which some readers may find distressing.

Jeremy Kyle has opened up on the moment he found out former guest Steve Dymond had died seven days after filming.

The TV presenter, 59, was included in part of an inquest at Winchester’s Coroner’s Court, which concluded earlier this week that The Jeremy Kyle Show’s treatment of Dymond was not a ‘contributory factor’ to his death.

The episode, filmed in May 2019, saw Dymond, 63, become ‘distraught’ after he failed a lie detector test in which he hoped would prove he didn’t cheat on his fiancee, Jane Callaghan, from Gosport, Hampshire.

Dymond died by suicide a week after the show was filmed.

Recalling the tragic moment, Kyle told The Sun: “I went to the office on the morning, I think, of the 9th, and I was sat in my dressing room and one of the show executives came in and told me the tragic news and you just think ‘Oh my God’.

“It was such a shock. Filming was cancelled, I went home and I never went back to the Manchester studios.

“I spent that weekend not knowing what to think and then, rightly so, everything then about the show is pointless because all you think about is this guy being in that dreadful position.

“I looked at the Steve Dymond clips in my lawyer’s office for the first time and I was worried watching it because it had already been widely reported I had allegedly bullied him, shouted at him and egged on the audience to boo him.

“That I pounced on him, called him a traitor, heckled him and got in his face.

“It was reported I called him a failure, that I threw the lie detector in his face and that he was so distressed he collapsed on stage, and that we wouldn’t let him leave the studio.

“But I watched it and I can categorically say none of these things happened.

“But when I watched it, I thought, I didn’t shout and scream. I wasn’t cowering over him. I took him backstage and calmed him and the situation down.

“I saw me say ‘hello mate, hello pal’, make a joke with him, give him the results and be very straight with him.

“I took him backstage, tried to de-escalate it, and I remember saying to him, ‘She [Jane] loves you. You don’t need to lie — tell her the truth, we’ll help put you back together.’”

He added: “I haven’t spoken for five years out of respect because there was a legal process that dragged on and on for many reasons.

“It should never have been about me. It’s about Steve and his family. That was my first thought when I found out.”

Lottie Moss breaks down in tears as she admits she 'no longer knows who she is'

Lottie Moss breaks down in tears as she admits she ‘no longer knows who she is’

The 26-year-old model shared an emotional update with fans

Lottie Moss has shared an emotional update with fans as she admits that she ‘feels so alone’.

The 26-year-old spoke candidly with fans, revealing that she is four days sober after ‘succumbing to drugs and alcohol’ when she felt down.

Moss, who is the half-sister of supermodel Kate Moss, said she struggles to ‘even know who [she] is’.

In the clip, Moss said: “Oh, I don’t even know where to start. I think it’s just really important to talk about things and like I’m not very active on social media, because I’ve been so bad in the past about it and I get some horrible comments about things.

“But I really want to be more open and talk about things on TikTok because I think it’s important to show people that life isn’t as shiny and bright as it is on social media.

“I have struggled so much since I was young with depression, anxiety and problems with addiction and becoming a model and being in that industry made it very difficult for me not to feel that way and just succumb to drugs and alcohol whenever I felt sad.

Lottie Moss became emotional as she opened up to fans.

“I’ve been in a habit of doing that for the rest of my life up until now. And I’ve just got to a point where now I don’t even know who I am and it’s just like navigating your 20s f**king suck.”

The model also addressed her face tattoo, saying that it had been an act of rebellion – as had joining OnlyFans – and that she wanted to find out who she really is.

She went on: “I think sometimes you become this person who you don’t like, know or even recognise. I think I’ve gone to that place today where I just don’t know who I am.

“Since I got my face tattoo and started OnlyFans, I was like, ‘Is this even what I want to be doing?’

The model has opened up about her struggles.

“I think I rebelled so hard away from an industry that made me sad at the time – and I just rebelled so hard away from being that person because I was so miserable being that person.

“But then I don’t even like myself now, so I’m like ‘Who the f**k am I?’

“I just need to know that other people are feeling this way and that I’m not going crazy. I feel like I isolated myself from so many people that do and did care and now I feel so alone.

“I feel like I should be grateful as I have so many good things in my life, but I just don’t feel happy in myself.”

Johnny Depp addresses ‘soap opera’ Amber Heard trial as he lands in country she moved to for new life

He’s in the country to premiere his new film with Al Pacino

Johnny Depp has addressed his ‘soap opera’ trial with Amber Heard after landing in the country she moved away to.

The actor recently arrived in San Sebastian where he’s premiering his second directorial feature, Modi – Three Days on the Wing of Madness, which follows a few days in the life of Italian artist, Amedeo Modigliani.

Set in the middle of World War Two, the film stars Riccardo Scamarcio, Antonia Desplat, Al Pacino and Stephen Graham.

And while speaking at a press conference at the San Sebastian Film Festival,

Depp compared his bumpy life to that of the artist’s.

“Each [character] has their story because I’m sure we can say that I’ve been through number of things here and there.

“Maybe yours didn’t turn into a soap opera. I mean, literally, televised,” he said.

“But we all go through what we go through. So, to see these people on the verge of earning their stripes… There’s something beautiful to me about those days living in a tiny studio apartment just off Hollywood Boulevard in a dangerous neighbourhood. They were tough. They were rough, ugly; they were weird, all kinds of stuff, but they were beautiful.”

And it has, of course, got to be said that the notable, big ‘televised’ bit of Depp’s life in recent years has to be his trial with ex-wife, Heard.

Heard was sued by the Pirates of the Caribbean star for defamation back in 2022 before she then countersued and accused him of fronting a ‘smear campaign’ against her.

After the days in court were shown on TVs globally, Depp ended up being awarded $15 million (£12 million), later capped at $10.35 million (£8.27 million) by the court.

A separate verdict also saw Heard receive $2 million (£1.6 million) in damages.

Following that ‘soap opera’ of a court case, Heard retreated from the public eye and moved over to Spain with her daughter.

And while trying to move on with her life and find a level of privacy, local media reports she was asked about Depp’s arrival in the country.

She reportedly responded: “I’m living here in Madrid, I love Spain.

“I’m very lucky to be here, and regarding my past, I don’t feel like thinking or talking about it, because I’m happy and in peace.”

A source told PEOPLE in November 2022 that Heard ‘is able to just be a mum’, while she’s there.

“She spends every day with her girl. They stroll around, visit parks and enjoy family time. Amber is a great mom.

Amanda Holden admits she remembers plumber's remark which made Les Dennis realise their marriage wouldn’t last

Amanda Holden admits she remembers plumber’s remark which made Les Dennis realise their marriage wouldn’t last

The plumber who worked on Les Dennis’ and Amanda Holden’s house certainly left a lasting impression on the pair of them.

The plumber who worked on Les Dennis’ and Amanda Holden’s house certainly left a lasting impression on the pair of them.

While fixing the pipes in their Highgate home, he also made an hilarious remark that made the comedian realise their marriage wouldn’t last.

Take a look at Les recounting the moment here:

The pair got hitched in 1995 after meeting on a stage show production of The Sound of Music and falling head over heels.

Les was 40 when he tied the knot with 23-year-old starlet Amanda, but their high-profile marriage came crashing down five years later.

It was revealed that Amanda had been having an affair with Line of Duty star Neil Morrissey, spelling the end of her and Les.

The couple officially separated in 2002 and divorced a year later.

Les revealed he ‘should have known’ that his marriage was doomed even before the betrayal came to light.

Amanda Holden revealed she also remembers the plumber's remark.

In a chat with Richard Herring, he said that everyone was ‘waiting’ for their marriage to go wrong, but joked that ‘nobody told [him]’.

However, a throwaway comment from a handyman has remained rooted in his memory.

Les explained: “I remember one day in our house in Highgate, it was Grand National Day, and the plumber was there to fix the washing machine.

“And Amanda came running and said, ‘we need to put a bet on’, so [I gave her] ten quid and she went, ‘oh we need to put more than that on’.

“So I went, ‘twenty?’ And the plumber went, ‘kids, eh?’

“Maybe I should have known then.”

It turns out the short statement also firmly lodged itself in Amanda’s memory.

The actress split with Les Dennis after five years of marriage when her affair was exposed.

Replying to a fan in June 2019 who shared the clip of Les, that has since been recirculated, she wrote: “I remember this.”

She added three laughing emojis as well as a heart at the end of her tweet, proving there is no hard feelings between the pair.

Les reiterated this sentiment earlier this year, explaining that he doesn’t harbour any ill will towards his ex or Neil Morrissey.

He said that he’s ‘happy that she’s happy’ and he has now ‘healed’ from the affair.

The former Family Fortunes presenter told The Times: “Amanda was in the papers recently, saying some nice things about me.

“That was very kind of her.

“Maybe with time she has been able to look back and see things differently. We’re not in touch but I am happy that she’s happy.”

He went on: “I can watch Britain’s Got Talent without getting angry. To be honest it’s like watching a different person, someone I’ve never met.

“All the hurt that has happened has been healed.”
