The bloke ended up getting to his feet and winning the competition

When it comes to Strongmen, Eddie Hall just has to be one of the most famous in Britain.

The bloke’s a legend and has delivered us with all sorts of memorable moments from knocking out two brothers in one round during his MMA debut to that time he leg pressed 1,000kg.

But the former UK’s Strongest Man doesn’t half put himself through it, that’s for sure. Like during a previous competition, when footage captured the horrifying moment Hall passed out during a brutal Strongman challenge that most people wouldn’t dare to even attempt.

The now 36-year-old was participating in the Conan’s Wheel event, titled after the famed character of ‘muscle and might’ – Conan the Barbarian.

Conan’s Wheel is tipped by Strongman as a ‘test of unrivalled endurance and strength’ that demands ‘not just muscle power but mental stamina’.

Basically, it’s a yards-long bar, fitted onto a pivot and at the end of ‘Conan’s Bar’ are typically weights that the athlete must then lift and carry around.

The dreaded challenge is now a vital component in premier strength competitions around the world but certainly isn’t for the faint hearted.

The commentator can be heard saying: “This is mind over matter and his mind says the pain does not matter,” as The Beast carries the bar.

As he completes full circles of the wheel, it’s noted that Hall is going slower than his competitor as they explain that with ‘his body shape, you wouldn’t expect him to do particularly well here’.

He appears to be starting to struggle as his arms start to ‘sink down to his waist’ and he’s ‘barely able to move’.

As he gets slower, Hall then drops the bar, falling to his knees and onto his back as he appears to pass out after doing 720 degrees of ‘Conan’s Circle’.

he soon comes round and gets back to his feet ‘covered in paint and covered in glory’.

You certainly can’t knock Hall’s determination, it still worked out for him, as he ended up winning his first Britain’s Strongest Man title that year.

That started off an impressive run for him, as he won his fifth straight Britain’s Strongest Man competition in 2018 before retiring from the competitions shortly after. What a legend

He seriously pushed himself to the limit

The world’s strongest man monicker is no joke when you’re leg pressing 1,000kg.

But what is also no laughing matter is when lifters push themselves a bit too far, to the point of passing out.

That’s what Eddie Hall did a few years ago back when he was competing.

“I’m going to go for 1,000 kilos, which is the heaviest I’ve ever done on this machine,” he said in the video, shared to his YouTube channel Eddie Hall The Beast.

If you’re unaware just how heavy 1,000kg is, it’s the equivalent to a great white shark, a polar bear or a crocodile.

It really does put my 100kg leg press to shame.

Anyway, in the video, Hall starts to slowly put more weight on. He stops at one point to say: “I soiled meself. You smell it?”

But nothing can stop the Staffordshire native, who carries on, leg pressing his target weight after taking a quick break to clean up after himself.

He then suddenly goes quiet for a moment, his head dropping to the side. A bit worrying? Nope, next he wakes up, casually asking: “Did I black out?”

It should go without saying, but we definitely don’t condone lifting weights so heavy that you pass out.

Then 28, Hall was the first man to life half a tonne at the First Direct Arena in Leeds. But immediately after, he collapsed, with blood vessels in his head bursting.

Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post at the time, he said: “That nearly killed me. The pressure on my body was surreal. I passed out after. I had nose bleeds. It’s not healthy doing something like that.

“But I’ve done it. I’m sure it will be in the history books for a very long time.

“I don’t want to do it again but if it comes to the point where somebody breaks it, hell…I may just do.

“It’s that great feeling, Like the first man on the moon, the first man to run a mile in under four minutes. And now I’m the first to deadlift half a ton. It’s history and I’m very proud to be a part of it.”

Recently, Hall made his MMA debut in somewhat unconventional circumstances.

Last night (7 June), he stepped into the octagon for a World Freak Fight League event at King George’s Hall in Blackburn.

Going up against the former World’s Strongest Man were TikToking brothers, Jamil and Jamel Neffati.

The first brother recovered from his suplex and staggered back into the fight, only to be put right out of it again as he was KO’d by Hall with just one punch.

From there, the rest of the fight was a formality, and of course, the win went to Hall.

Even two fighters weren’t enough to take Eddie Hall down

Eddie Hall just made his MMA debut in a somewhat unorthodox fight, but he came out on top by delivering a brutal KO to his opponents.

Last night (7 June), he stepped into the octagon for a World Freak Fight League event at King George’s Hall in Blackburn.

Going up against the former World’s Strongest Man were TikToking brothers Jamil and Jamel Neffati.

Even the two of them together were nowhere near the same weight class as Hall, as during the fight weigh-in he was almost six stone heavier than both of them combined.

Right from the start of the fight, the Neffati brothers seemed to know that they were outmatched, keeping their distance from Hall and his mighty physique.

They just circled the man-mountain that is Hall, until he got frustrated enough to shout at them to ‘just f**king do something’.

For the first two rounds, they didn’t want to get anywhere near Hall and he couldn’t catch up to them when he tried to get close, which resulted in the crowd booing what was surely not the greatest of spectacles.

These people had come to see a fight, and it wasn’t until round three they got what they wanted.

The Neffati brothers finally decided to see if they could lay some hands on Hall, and quickly discovered that stepping into the octagon with him had been a grave mistake.

Alright, maybe that was a bit much, neither of them died at Hall’s hands during his MMA debut but he was able to pick up one of the brothers and suplexed his face into the ground.

Brother number two came in to try and salvage the situation by attempting to wrestle with Hall, but to no avail.

The first brother recovered from his suplex and staggered back into the fight, only to be put right out of it again as he was KO’d by Hall with just one punch.

From there the rest of the fight was a formality, and of course, the win went to Eddie Hall.

Before the fight, the brothers had said: “I’m surprised he took the fight, I thought he was bigger.

“He keeps saying he’s going to do this and that, but he is so slow. We’ve been training with professional fighters, not teddy bears like me.

“I can imagine after 45-seconds he is going to want help sent for him or throw in the towel and go crying.”

Afterwards, one of them admitted ‘it must have been a good punch as I cannot remember anything’.

Eddie Hearn couldn’t contain his excitement

Eddie Hearn’s reaction to Anthony Joshua’s brutal knockout win over Francis Ngannou has fans left in stitches.

The British boxer defeated the Cameroonian in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia last night as the likes of Tyson Fury watched from the front row.

AJ gave quite the show for fans as he started off with all guns blazing from the get-go, knocking him down in the first round.

But it was the whopper of a righthand to Ngannou’s jaw that KO’d him in the second round.

This takes Joshua’s boxing record to an impressive 28-3-0 with a big 25 wins by KO.

As the Brit showed great sportsmanship and ‘class’ in his response – waiting for his opponent to be ok’d by medics before celebrating – his promoter was absolutely buzzing.

While some fans found AJ’s post-match speech a bit ‘cringe’ and ‘weird’, others were in tears laughing at Hearn celebrating.

As Ngannou was KO’d, the promoter leapt to his feet and well, almost galloped to the ring doing a jump for joy before making his way over to Joshua.

One fan even wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “Eddie Hearn going full Will from Inbetweeners dance with excitement at Joshua knocking out Ngannou.”

Of course, that’s a pretty savage reference to Will dancing in the bar in The Inbetweeners Movie.

But to be fair, Hearn does seem to skip and gallop from his seat.

Another posted: “@EddieHearn reaction after AJ defeats Ngannou by 2nd round destruction… for me, it’s the little hop he does at the end.”

Others simply just posted crying-laughing emojis as one replied: “Rightly so. Love to see it.”

During his post-match speech, Joshua simply said ‘it is what it is’ before going on to praise his opponent.

Hearn was buzzing.

He added: “I don’t know if I’m in my peak, I’m pushing day by day, who knows where it will take me? In five years I won’t be fighting no more, this will be a distant memory.”

And Hearn told Sky Sports that AJ is ‘the best heavyweight in the world’ as he talked up about wanting Tyson Fury to finally face the KO-winning boxer.

Meanwhile, the Gypsy King had a very honest reaction to Joshua’s win.

He told DAZN: “I’m sure Oleksandr Usyk will have something to say something about that. I had a s*** performance against Ngannou. AJ did absolutely fantastic and lit him up with a right hand.

“If he fights me after I beat Usyk twice then it will be a different game.”

The heavyweight boxer suffered the horrific injury in a spar

New footage has revealed the moment that Tyson Fury sustained the horrific injury that caused the Oleksandr Usyk fight to be postponed.

The heavyweight boxer was set to face off against Usyk in the ring on 17 February in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.

It was announced on 2 February that Fury had suffered an injury that required ‘urgent medical attention’, as a statement was released by Queensberry Productions on X, formerly Twitter.

The statement explained: “The cut, which opened above Fury’s right eye, required urgent medical attention and significant stitching, and will obviously require a period of recovery, scuppering any possibility of the fight with Usyk taking place on 17 February in Saudi Arabia,”

Fury shared his feelings towards the injury too: “I am absolutely devastated after preparing for this fight for so long and being in such super condition.”

Fury and Usyk faced off in their press conference for the 'Ring of Fire'.

He went on to say that he ‘felt bad’ for all those involved in organising the event, as well as Usyk’s team.

The highly anticipated event was billed the ‘Ring of Fire’, though it is unclear how long it will be postponed for.

Leaked footage has since emerged, revealing the exact moment that Fury sustained the injury in sparring.

He can be seen going back and forth with his sparring partner, before a stray elbow seems to catch him above his eye following a hook.

Fury’s coach can be heard in the background saying: “Whoa, stop!”

The heavyweight champion could then be seen checking the area for blood, before the video ends.

A truly annoying sight for any boxing fan, who would have been looking forward to see if Usyk could best Fury after defeating Anthony Joshua twice.

With the dates now up in the air, a lot of the boxing fans have become sceptical at the severity of the injury.

Fury sustained the deep cut while sparring.

One user commented on X: “All planned out for more preparation very obvious”.

Another said: “That’s it? damn imagine what Usyk would have done to him”.

A third put: “That sparring partner got a bonus bigger than all of his fight purses put together and a huge thank you from team Fury”.

Even his own fans felt the same way, with one saying: “More angles than the average fight, hate to say it as a fan of Fury but looks fishy”.

Whether it’s real or not, we’re all awaiting the new date to be confirmed, but seeing as the cut and its stitches need to heal, it might not be for a while yet.
