All rumoured I'm A Celeb contestants for 2024 as Coleen Rooney is set to appear

How many of them will end up going into the jungle?

A supposed list of contestants who might be heading into the Australian jungle and showered with insects for our amusement has been drawn up, and there’s some unlikely names on there.

It’s getting to be that time of year again when the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! machine rumbles back into life, and there’s a great deal of speculation over which celebrities will go into the jungle.

A number of outlets have been throwing out names for the famous faces that you might soon see adorned with creepy crawlies in the hopes of getting the camp a few nice meals.

Do take all of this with several pinches of salt, though; ITV will announce the full line-up in their own time.

They’ve told LADbible: “Any names suggested for I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! are just speculation.”

Speculation has certainly been ramping up recently, with the Manchester Evening News throwing out a list of eight names which they say covers the celebrities most rumoured to be on I’m A Celeb next.

Ally McCoist

The eight names the MEN has mooted range through former footballers, singers, TV presenters and influencers.

They claim that former footballer Ally McCoist came close to joining the show a couple of years ago, and that his family ‘have been telling him forever’ that he’d sparkle on I’m A Celeb.

Is this going to be his year?

Jeremy Clarkson

You’d think he was busy enough running his farm and opening his pub, but the MEN claims that a spokesperson for betideas.com said going into the jungle ‘looks a likely destination’ for Clarkson.

He has been in jungles before, including in the Bolivia Special episode of Top Gear, where his testicles became submerged in a river, much to the amusement of his colleagues.

In more recent years, he has been on other ITV show Who Wants to be a Millionaire? as the presenter, and gets to be more involved with proceedings thanks to the ‘ask the host’ lifeline.

The MEN points the finger at Ladbrokes for this rumour, as the betting site apparently reckons the odds on reality TV bosses rushing towards either him or former partner Molly-Mae Hague are good.

The couple recently split up and Fury said that ‘the truth will come out’, having said that claims of him cheating are ‘completely false’.

This one seems a tad far-fetched, not least because he was just on a desert island for Channel 5 where he talked about an ‘utter, utter betrayal’.

Having just come out of one jungle, would you expect him to be soon afterwards going into another or appearing on ITV again?

Alan Halsall

The odds on the Coronation Street star going into the jungle are apparently high, as he was supposed to be joining I’m A Celeb last year before he got seriously injured.

Halsall, who plays Tyrone Dobbs on Corrie, had been rumoured to join the 2023 edition of the show before he announced to fans that he’d suffered a pretty serious leg injury.

Whether he’d been preparing to head into the jungle or not before, what he needed was time to recover rather than competing in the Celebrity Cyclone.

Coleen Rooney

Meanwhile, The Sun on Sunday claims that the headline celebrity this year is going to be Coleen Rooney of ‘Wagatha Christie’ fame.

They claim she’s a big fan of the show and will now be on it, and interestingly enough, her courtroom rival Rebekah Vardy was actually on the 2017 version of the show.

Once again, temper your expectations because at this point, according to ITV, it’s all ‘speculation’.

You’d hope they do have some celebrities already lined up, as I’m A Celeb 2024 starts airing next month, but they’ll confirm it on their own timetable.

Giovanni Pernice

The Strictly Come Dancing star recently announced ‘I’m back baby!’ after an investigation into bullying allegations made against him had concluded.

He’d been accused by actor Amanda Abbington, and a BBC investigation upheld six of the claims against him while clearing him of a further 10.

As a result of the allegations and investigation, he’s not currently on Strictly, meaning he might be free for I’m A Celeb duties.

The MEN says that the N-Dubz singer turned X-Factor judge may also be bound for the jungle.

All sorts of celebrities end up making their way there, so anything is possible, and nothing is to be taken for granted until you see them decked out in the gear with their name and number on the back.

GK Barry

A social media influencer who has recently appeared on Loose Women, she wouldn’t be the first internet star to make the leap to I’m A Celeb.

Nella Rose did it last year and it’s possible that the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! team have decided to go for another influencer.

Her appearance on Loose Women would mean she’s no stranger to appearing on ITV.

I’m A Celeb medic explains grim reason 2023 contestants will have to wear red socks

The line-up for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! is in.

The lineup for the hit ITV show finally dropped yesterday (9 November) and viewers can now start placing their bets on who is going to crumble first.

A group of famous faces will knowingly be heading into the jungle to be doused with bugs and fed cocktails made from all sorts of creature’s body parts.

The likes of Fred Sirieix, Frankie Dettori, Nella Rose, Tony Bellew, Nigel Farage, Josie Gibson, Nick Pickard, Jamie-Lynn Spears, Danielle Harold, Sam Thompson, Marvin Humes and Grace Dent will all be making their way into the jungle.

ITV

Britney Spears’ sister Jamie-Lynn will be an interesting one, and champion boxer Bellew, who retired in 2018, will for sure be showing off his Scouse charm.

But this year’s controversial pick – yes I said ‘pick’ – is politician Nigel Farage, who is seemingly following in the footsteps of Matt Hancock.

And it’s a decision which has certainly proved to be controversial – with many people refusing to watch the show because of him.

One wrote on X: “This will be the first time in years that I’m not watching I’m a CelebI refuse to sit and see Ant & Dec laugh and joke with a man as vile as Nigel Farage.”

Another put: Nigel Farage on #ImACeleb this year? Welp, won’t be watching this year then. Urgh.”

The bush tucker trials will be an interesting one this year.

Now, regular viewers of the show will notice that the celebrities all wear red socks while they are in camp.

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! is back in business and so are the red socks.

ITV

This isn’t just a uniform decision, but a decision based in something a lot more gross, according to a show insider.

And he should know too, he’s the medic.

Bob McCarron worked on the show for years before hanging up his stethoscope this year, and he told Woman’s Own a few years ago that the socks are actually to cover up blood splatters from the many and varied blood sucking critters that live in the jungle.

ITV

Basically, one of the pitfalls of being in the jungle is that you will get bitten, you will pick up cuts and bruises, and they simply don’t want the celebs to look too much like they’ve been through the wars.

Ahead of the new season, fans are already describing this year’s line-up as ‘one of the best I’ve seen in the show’s history’, while others already seem to have chosen the celebs they’d like to see go through the trials.

I’ll leave that one with you to take a guess.

The popular reality show lands back on our screens later this month

Social media sleuths reckon they’ve worked out the identity of one famous face heading into the I’m a Celeb camp later this month.

The popular reality show landed on our screens a little bit earlier last year (6 November) due to the FIFA World Cup taking place – but it usually airs from mid November and it seems this year is no exception, with a teaser ad for I’m a Celeb confirming the show will begin on Sunday, 19 November.

With just under two weeks to go, ITV is yet to confirm its celebrity line-up but there has been plenty of speculation online, including Nigel Farage, JLS’ Marvin Humes, ex-EastEnders star Danielle Harold, This Morning’s Josie Gibson and First Dates’ Fred Siriex.

Alongside them, jockey Frankie Dettori is also tipped to star – and fans reckon that he’s as good as confirmed it with a recent post he shared to X, formerly known as Twitter.

In the post, Dettori can be seen leaning against a fence with water and a city skyline behind him.

Captioning the shot, he wrote: “Touchdown…” alongside an emoji of the Australian flag, which eagle-eyed X users were quick to jump on.

Fans think Frankie Dettori is set to head into the jungle camp this year.

Responding to the post, one person said: “He’s defo going on I’m A Celeb.”

Another said simply: “I’m A Celeb.”

While a third wrote: “Jungle fever…”

Dettori has previously explained why he was taking a trip Down Under – he had written on social media that he would be flying from California to Melbourne for the Melbourne Cup.

Dettori shared: “Unfortunately, this year I’m suspended, so I can[t] ride but I will support the Melbourne Cup carnival for the week, see some old friends riding and have a smashing time at the racing.”

But with the cup down and dusted earlier today (7 November), there’s nothing preventing Dettori from taking part in the show.

I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! is set to return to our screens soon.

ITV

It’s previously been reported that the jockey is keen to appear in the ITV show.

Landing in Aus earlier than the other contestants, a source reportedly told The Sun: “Frankie is a superstar signing for jungle casting producers as he is a legend in the horse racing world and would be reality TV gold.

“He might be pint-sized, but his personality is larger than life and he has real charm and a sense of humour.

“Frankie would be brilliant in the Bushtucker Trials too as being competitive is second nature to him.”

I’m A Celeb rumoured contestant forced to pull out of show days before launch

The star has shared an update following their operation

A Coronation Street star who had been tipped to join the I’m A Celeb line-up has been ruled out after undergoing an operation on his knee.

Actor Alan Halsall, who plays Tyrone Dobbs in the long-running soap, had been rumoured to be one of the celebs flying out to Australia this year to take part in the reality show.

However, he’s since revealed that he had to undergo reconstructive surgery on his ACL ligament last week.

It’s unclear how the dad-of-one came to injure his leg, but he’s looking at quite a lengthy rehabilitation period.

Halsall took to Instagram to share a shot of himself post-surgery, while reassuring fans the operation had gone ‘really well’.

He wrote: “On Friday I underwent ACL reconstruction surgery. I have been told the surgery went really well. I know I have a long 9-12 months of rehabilitation ahead of me but I’m sure with the support of family and friends I’ll get there.”

A source told The Mirror that Halsall’s operation was a ‘big blow’ to the ITV reality show.

They said: “It’s a big blow, but there’s no way he can go to Australia – his surgeon would have a fit. Alan needs to recover fully and then maybe he can take part next year. It’s a massive shame because everyone was really looking forward to having him on the show, but these things happen.”

But Corrie fans may be pleased to know that they’ll still be seeing Tyrone on their screens until early next year when he will be taking a ‘break’.

Coronation Street spokesperson told The Mirror: “Alan will be on screen in the coming weeks as we film two months ahead, and then he’ll be taking a short break whilst he recovers.”

Halsall said the operation ‘went well’.

I’m A Celeb returns to our screens later this month, with a teaser ad confirming the show will begin on Sunday, 19 November.

ITV’s celebrity line-up for the show is yet to be announced, but there have been plenty of rumours and names thrown in about the build-up already.

Among those expected to be crowned king or queen of the jungle are Nigel Farage, JLS’ Marvin Humes, Made in Chelsea’s Sam Thompsonex-EastEnder Danielle Harold, This Morning’s Josie Gibson and First Dates’ Fred Siriex.

Alongside them, jockey Frankie Dettori is also tipped to star – and fans reckon that he’s as good as confirmed it with a recent post he shared to X.

How much I’m A Celebrity contestants get paid as 2023 line up is announced

This year’s I’m A Celeb line-up was revealed yesterday

Yep, it’s just over a week to go until I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! lands on our tellies. And the line-up has already been revealed.

Leaked yesterday, the list of celebrities entering the jungle this year includes a controversial politician, a champion boxer, a comedian and a boyband star.

So yeah, pretty much the usual.

The ITV series returns next Sunday 19 November and we’ve got a right mix of contestants taking part.

This year’s I’m A Celeb line-up features Fred Sirieix, Frankie Dettori, Nella Rose, Tony Bellew, Nigel Farage, Josie Gibson, Nick Pickard, Jamie-Lynn Spears, Danielle Harold, Sam Thompson, Marvin Humes and Grace Dent heading into the jungle.

But just how much cash is the former UKIP leader getting paid to take part?

Well, ITV doesn’t disclose how much the celebrities get paid to appear on the popular TV show, but in the past, they’ve gotten anything from the likes of £30,000 to the mega £900,000.

The stars don’t receive a cash prize if they’re crowned king or queen of the jungle, they simply just get paid to take part.

So, that’s nearly one million quid to go and eat some animal’s anus and sleep in a hammock.

Back in 2018, Deal or No Deal legend Noel Edmonds was said to be the highest-paid star yet with a whopping £550,000 cashed in.

And then last year, pop star Boy George reportedly becoming one of the highest-paid contestants ever. Mail Online said the ‘Karma Chameleon’ singer raked in £900,000 for his stint on the show.

Matt Hancock used to be a Tory MP, but now sits as an independent after appearing on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

ITV

Robert Peston reported back in February that former Health Secretary Matt Hancock was paid £400,000 before tax for taking part in I’m A Celeb.

Apparently though, Hancock said he received £320,000 and reportedly gave £10,000 of the fee to charity.

Each contestant on the ITV reality show gets paid a different amount, as they can negotiate a fee for their presence.

This is different to the likes of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, where the celebs are said to receive a flat fee that can’t be changed.

There’s been uproar about Farage taking part in this year’s I’m A Celeb series as some viewers say they ‘refuse’ to watch it with him in it.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! is set to return to ITV at 9pm on Sunday 19 November.
