The Dallas Buyers Club star, 54, previously opened up about his mum and dad in his memoir Greenlights, published back in 2020.
He revealed that Mary and James McConaughey got divorced twice and were married three times.
Although, McConaughey said his parents were ‘like the Pacific Ocean in a storm’ and that the tough times were ‘superseded by the love and humanity’.
Meanwhile, the actor went one step further and lifted the lid on their sex life.
The pair clearly liked getting it on and his father James even predicted that the way he would die would be ‘making love’ to his wife, which is exactly what happened.
Horrifyingly, after he died during sex, McConaughey said his mum refused to cover up James’ massive manhood, nicknamed ‘Big Jim’.
Describing the moment in his book, he wrote: “I got a call from my mum: ‘Your dad died.’ My knees buckled.

“I couldn’t believe it. He was my dad. Nobody or nothing could kill him. Except mum.
“He’d always told me and my brothers, ‘Boys, when I go, I’m gonna be makin’ love to your mother.’ And that’s what happened. He had a heart attack when he climaxed.”
McConaughey continued to expand on the story during an episode of the WTF with Marc Maron podcast.
He said: “There’s other parts of the story that aren’t even in the book.
“I found out later that when the ambulance came to get him at the house, obviously all the neighbours came out on the street.
“And they came and told me later that my mum, in her negligee nightie that she had woke up in, wouldn’t let the paramedics cover him.

“She kept ripping the sheet off going: ‘Uh-uh, I want the world to see why his nickname was Big Jim, don’t you cover him!'”
Speaking about her late husband, May also said in a 2020 episode of the Red Table Talk: “You know how he died, don’t you?
“My husband died making love to me, and I remember saying when he fell back, I said, ‘What’s the matter, big boy? I wear you out?’
“And he’s [giving] no response, no response and I’m thinking, ‘Oh my god, something’s wrong’.”
She continued: “I had no idea that it was too much. His heart just stopped, you know? We had a party for him, kind of a celebration of his life.”

The Friends star was found dead in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home on 28 October last year.
Perry’s death was initially reported as accidental with the autopsy revealed a cause of the combined effects of ketamine use and drowning.
However, it was more recently confirmed by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) that there would be a criminal investigation into the 54-year-old actor’s death.
Law enforcement sources reportedly told TMZ that search warrants had been executed with computes, phones and other electronic equipment seized to determine who supplied the star with the ketamine that led to his death.

It is said at least one doctor has been arrested, along with a number of dealers who helped to arrange and deliver the drugs to Perry.
This is as it is alleged the ketamine the star ingested was not legally prescribed and though he had been receiving ketamine infusion therapy for anxiety and depression, his last session was a week and a half before his death.
And the contents from the infusion would have only been in the Chandler Bing actor’s system for three to four hours.
Reportedly, the criminal investigation found text messages leading to these arrests.
During his life, Perry was very open about his struggles with addiction over the years, discussing much of it in his autobiography.
The actor had been a staunch advocate who warned of the dangers of alcohol and drugs, after experiencing substance abuse issues since the young age of 14.

According to the autopsy, Perry had been sober for 19 months at the time of his death, with no known substance abuse relapses since then. It’s also reported investigators found no alcohol, illicit drugs or drug paraphernalia at the scene.
The actor’s tragic passing last year was confirmed in a statement by NBC, the studio behind Friends, which said: “We are incredibly saddened by the too soon passing of Matthew Perry.
“He brought so much joy to hundreds of millions of people around the world with his pitch-perfect comedic timing and wry wit. His legacy will live on through countless generations.”
His co-stars also released a heartbreaking statement which included: “We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family.
“There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss.”
The duo have already done this dance in 17 Again – but the late Friends star wanted to rope him in for round two because he did ‘such a good job’.

Discussion surrounding about a biopic on Perry’s life has hit the headlines again since his sudden passing on 28 October.
He was found dead in his hot tub at his home in Los Angeles and was laid to rest in a private ceremony on 3 November.
Efron said he was ‘still devastated by the fact that he is gone’ when asked about how he was dealing with the loss of his former co-star.
Perry had previously described the High School Musical legend as the ‘dream younger version’ of himself to cast in a movie.

He told People: “I’m honoured to hear he was thinking of me to play him. We’ll see. I’d be honoured to do it.
“He was a mentor to me, and we made a really cool film together. I looked up to him, I learned comedic timing from that guy.
“I mean, when we were filming 17 Again, it was so surreal for me to look across and have him be there, because I’ve learned so much from him, from his whole life.”
Perry’s pal Athenna Crosby – who spent the day with him before his death – revealed that he had been keen to make a movie about his incredible life and have a biopic made.

She added that he ‘wanted Zac Efron, who’s played him already, to play him again because he said he did such a good job’.
Perry previously said that Efron had declined an offer to star in a romcom that he had wrote.
“Well, it was Zac Efron. But he said no. So, we’ve got to find someone who says yes,” he told SiriusXM.
The Birds of America actor also revealed he had planned to give Aubrey Plaza the role of the female lead in his film, saying she ‘almost did it’.
This comes following an investigation into the death of the Friends actor, who died from an overdose in October of last year.
A report in People, published yesterday, June 25, stated that the investigation into his death was ‘nearing its conclusion’.

The report states, however, that when it does come to its conclusion ‘multiple people should be charged’ according to a source in law enforcement.

Perry spoke candidly in the past about his struggles with addiction.
He entered rehab for the first time in 1997, and had stated on multiple occasions that there were entire seasons of Friends that he did not remember filming.
The actor also fought for drug reform in the United States, calling for long-term treatment methods for offenders rather than jail time.
He also opened ‘Perry House’, a sober home for addicts, and was given the ‘Champion of Recovery award’ by the White House under the Obama Administration.
In an interview, Perry once said: “When I die, as far as my so-called accomplishments go, it would be nice if Friends were listed far behind the things I did to try to help other people.”
